It takes more than Luck

January 16, 2015

every rodeo had a clown brady“Why do you tease our friends in Indy?” That’s what the big guy asked when he saw me in the café the day after I wrote this. Back then, the New England Patriots had just spanked the Indianapolis Colts 42-20, at Lucas Oil Stadium, just a 10 minute walk from our Indy Tech Center.

There comes a time for every young team to step up, and that time is now in Indianapolis. Our tech team was basically developed via the draft, with lots of 1st round draft picks as an employer of choice there. It’s kind of unfair, like when the Montreal Canadiens used to have exclusive rights to amateur players within 50 miles of Montreal, but sacré bleu, I digress…

Anyway, we’ve built a team of young, smart millennials, and their big focus is implementing product modules for customers using our Workforce Ready SaaS suite. They are like, well, I know they won’t like this comparison, but they’re like Tom Brady and the Pats running the “hurry up” offense. Just since the November football game, they have taken customers live with 178 product modules! Here’s what their raving fans have to say about the experience:

“Excellent product knowledge.” – Healthcare
“The meetings were set up promptly and everyone was available to do their part and followed through with answers.”
“Those who configure, write interfaces etc were great. Dianna is awesome!”
“A great deal of experience and product knowledge. Good methodology and adherence to scope.”
“Professional services from Kronos were the best I’ve seen from any vendor. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.”

So our young Indy team has stepped up for their fans, and luck has nothing to do with it. Can their young Colts and quarterback do it for them on Sunday? Although the Patriots are prohibitive favorites, here are 5 reasons why the Indianapolis Colts will win, but I’m not too impressed with the list. Here are my 3 reasons the Colts can win:

  1. Andrew Luck – If he can avoid mistakes, he can keep his team in the game and maybe win it.
  2. Turnovers – The Patriots fumbled the football twice against the Baltimore Ravens, and were luck(y) to recover both. They can’t do that on Sunday.
  3. They want it more – Indy was embarrassed in November, and only 1 of 14 ESPN “experts” are picking them on Sunday. This is the NFL, and history has shown underdogs can step up and punch a favorite in the face, which it seems many Colts fans would like to do to our Tommy Brady…

Top 10 reasons Colts fans hate the Patriots

Good luck, and let’s go Pats!

Thank you for rewording “here are 5 reasons why the Indianapolis Colts will win” to “can”…. it doesn’t matter who wins, as long as it is a Patriot.
