Workforce (and football) Predictions!

January 10, 2014

Joyce Maroney PicksIt’s January 10, 2014, and while doing my morning sweep of the tech and cloud news today, my idea net came up with about the same catch as Forrest Gump and Lieutenant Dan the first time they went shrimping. Yeah, nothing. I thought about playing off of the playoff games this weekend, but I’d done a 2014 cloud predictions back in December. Then I hit a school! Well, actually I got schooled by members of the Workforce Institute board, and their 2014 predictions for workforce management… Yes! Then I remembered we have a Tweet Chat (yeah, we’re hip like that…) on these predictions Jan. 22 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Eastern; hashtag #KronosChat

All of the short predictions can be found here on YouTube, but I thought I’d share those of the people I’ve actually met. Well, (Work)Joyce I know well enough to make fun of. In fact, one such post is from January 10, 2013, and is on this very subject. That was weird. Anyway, here are the clips, and I’ll follow them up with my pigskin predictions (for entertainment purposes only…).

Now, for the fun predictions…

I predict every home team loses, but I hope I’m wrong on the Pats…

New Orleans over Seattle – The Saints are a talented and proud team with an excellent coach. They’ll get revenge for the 34-7 spanking they received from the Seahawks in week 13.

Indianapolis over New England – In a “changing of the guard” game, the injury plagued Patriots defense can’t stop Andrew Luck and the Colts in the final minutes.

San Francisco over Carolina – I saw the Panthers play once (NE at Car), and I wasn’t impressed. Meanwhile, the 9ers are the best team in football.

San Diego over Denver – San Diego is a hot team, and they know the Broncos well. Another year Peyton won’t win the big one.
