Blog Ombudsmen

October 30, 2013

ACA-imageLast night I had dinner with Ron, a long-time friend, mentor, and one of the finest humans I know. He reads this space on a regular basis, but mildly complained that my recent frequency was a bit much to consume. Oh, that’s not all… This blog is like my baby, and you know people don’t want their little cherub being called “monkey-face.” Anyway, Ron said my posts have lost some of the personal storytelling that made them inviting to readers. My response was that most people don’t care that (Play)Joyce is a quasi Red Sox pink hat, even if that somehow relates to workforce management. (That’ll be my post tomorrow to celebrate the big Game 6 win tonight.)

Anyway, Ron’s real issue was with my ACA coverage. No, not the website fiasco or any political perspective. Ron believes my posts are too obtuse, and perhaps not clear to many in the audience. Maybe this is why my Mom often says, “Most of the time I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Sorry, Mom. So, as a public service as this blog’s ombudsman, here’s a brief, 3 post summary of my Affordable Care Act coverage:

  1. The basics of the law for employers.
  2. Kronos resources that can help employers.
  3. 10 tips (I didn’t write) to explain the ACA to employees.

There it is. I feel better. Ron, thanks for the feedback, and thanks for dinner! I’m almost looking forward to your feedback…

I read this, and was pleased you noted who paid for dinner.

Forgetting the ACA, everyone just wants to know what will be different, for them.
