Schweddy Cloud?

baldwin cloudAlec Baldwin will always be a Sales icon for his portrayal of Alpha-Dog sales motivator, “Blake” in the 1992 film Glengarry Glen Ross. The real life Alec Baldwin can sell, too, from his “What’s in your wallet?” commercials to the hilarious Sox-Yankees spots with John Krasinski for a baseball cap company… So it wasn’t really surprising when I saw this image teaming Mr. Baldwin with the cloud, and I like how ServiceSource is using the actors character transformations as analogous to organizations transforming their businesses with the cloud. They blogged about it, too, so it must be true, right? Plus, blogging makes them cool…

Anyway, we see the cloud transformation in our business, with large, complex, enterprise customers opting to deploy Workforce Central in our private cloud, and many small to mid-sized businesses (SMB) going with our Workforce Ready SaaS offering. The benefits of the cloud are the same to these customers, whether large or small, simple or complex. They’re outsourcing the management of their software so they can focus on effectively running their organizations.

Speaking of baseball, I miss the pinstripes this time of year. I mean, come on. One of their former players was nicknamed, “Mr. October.” For the Red Sox, the road to a World Series championship should go through the Bronx.
