Catch a cloud and you’re sitting on top of the world

April 23, 2013

surfing with joeWith my granddaughter clinging to her mom like an octopus this morning, I had a little time to surf while holding a cup of hot joe. The little blond isn’t used to mom spending an endless weekend away, and she seems intent on making up all of that time today. My daughter may need another chill by 6PM tonight. Anyway, so while this Grey Belly was carving a bitchin’ 180 hanging eleven, I found a gnarly article called, 21 Most Admired Companies Making IT A Competitive Advantage. It summarizes the findings of Gartner’s Men In Grey Suits, but dude, I’m going to boil the ocean for you into one epic tube:

Customer-facing IT is what most dudes were amped about.

Customer-facing IT examples include:

  • Point-of-Sale (POS) in Retail
  • Electronic health record (EHR) systems in Healthcare
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for manufacturing and other businesses

These are the mission-critical systems that can differentiate your customer ride from that of your competitors by allowing your customer-facing employees to deliver the best service; therefore these are the systems where you should focus your limited IT talent. For mission-support systems like Kronos, you tube that baby right into the cloud. Yeah, it’s sick. You’ll be stoked.

Dude, if you don’t differentiate your customer’s ride, you could eat it, and that would not be rad.

I was browsing your website this morning and noticed several broken link on this page:

I was wondering whether this contact form was the best way to forward you the broken links that I came across.

And while you’re updating your page, I wondered if you’d be open to including some further career resources that could help people to find suitable job.

    Best Regards
