Robot Brain in the Sky(net)?

March 12, 2013

TerminatorIt seems some people are freaked by robots the way they are about clowns. Of course, I was irreparably damaged by a robot in a dream once, but one of my best friends is a (Rusted)Robot, and in general, clowns don’t bother me. Well, this one did, but that’s a story for another time. The cloud has also got some people a little spooked over a perceived loss of personal computing power, pricing, and security concerns. Now I wish I could alliterate right into “clowns in the cloud,” and while I’m sure there are some disguised as software vendors, I’m not going there. No. There’s something much more ominous afoot. It’s a robot brain in the cloud called Rapyuta, and to some, it’s the birth of Skynet. Jeez. Geeks.

Back here in reality, we’ve got a Kronos Cloud Tour webinar coming up on March 26, 2 p.m. ET. It’s a deep-dive into the our cloud data center infrastructure, servers, operating system, network, and other components that provide a stable, managed hosting environment for your Workforce Central applications.

“Come with me if you want to live…” in the Kronos cloud.
