Thanks to the lifesaving invention called social media, I can report that Las Vegas is beginning to be invaded by “Kronites,” a human-like alien with an unhealthy obsession about making their subjects – us real humans, more productive in the workforce. Word from the underground is that the Kronites began to literally descend “from the cloud” (apparently there was one in Vegas yesterday), starting Thursday, with invasion forces expected to peak by Sunday at their human assimilation event, KronosWorks. You’ve been warned.

Speaking of invasions, last week I wrote about Alex Kerin’s KronosWorks session, “Onshoring: The Coming Challenge for HR and HRIS.” Now there are reports that Apple’s giant Taiwanese manufacturing partner, Foxconn is exploring factory possibilities in the US. In addition to Alex’s amazing session, there are a few others I highly recommend:

  • Session 252 – The Workforce Central Cloud Tour (Tuesday, 11:00 am – 11:45 am)
Kronos CIO John McGregor will provide a tour of the data center infrastructure, servers, operating system, network, and other components that can provide a stable and secure managed hosting environment for your Workforce Central applications.
  • Session 250 – The Learning Organization (Monday, 3:15 pm – 4:00 pm)
Sondra Gohlke from Akron Children’s Hospital, and Tom Kimmel of Kronos explore the characteristics of a “learning organization,” where education supports an organization’s business processes to drive maximum ROI.
  • Session 237 – Upgrade Central: Success During Your Upgrade (Monday, 11:15 am-12:00 pm)
A Kronos panel of project and technology experts will share success stories and discuss best practices about the new ways Kronos is helping organizations prepare for upgrades and minimizing risk..
  • Session 57 – A “Not So Technical” Kronos Upgrade from 5.1 to 6.2. (Tuesday, 1:45 pm – 2:30 pm)
Juan Fuentes and Gloria Schillo Autrey of West Corporation discuss their upgrade experience and what you need to do within your organization to be successful.
  • Session 145 – The ROI and Benefits of Kronos Cloud Services (Monday, 11:15 am-12:00 pm)
If you’re interested in exploring the Workforce Central Cloud for your applications, Dan Rooney and I will provide an overview, share customer experiences, and provide you direction to all things cloud at KronosWorks, like…

Theater Presentation – The Cloud – Why So Serious? (Monday – 4:15pm- 4:30pm)
This 15 minute theater presentation is my baby, and will take a funny (I hope) look at “the Cloud” through its history and impact on all of us today.

THIS JUST IN!!! Social Media video of the invading Kronites!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!
