The Road Warrior

October 5, 2012

No, not me. My time “on the road” is fortunately limited to about three weeks a year, but those weeks are here. This picture is of a real road warrior, my Facebook friend and former Kronos Sales Executive, “Mike.” The big guy is constantly on the road for his sales gig, but he’s also a very active, adventurous type. See if you can guess where/when/why this pic of “Mike” was taken:

1. “Doing what he has to do” to catch a plane out of Vegas.
2. Playing “trucks” with his 2 daughters.
3. Training for the “Tough Mudder” competition.
4. Doing a screen test for “Sons of Anarchy.”
5. Keeping the road safe into Rocky Point, Mexico.
6. Just cleaning up at the end of another great quarter!

While you ponder what’s up with “Mike,” I’ve got to pack for my 3 upcoming trips, made lighter by leaving the laptop home. How? Well, if you’re an iPad/iPhone or Android user, I strongly recommend “Splashtop Streamer” to access all of your laptop content easily! Yeah, it’s definitely using the cloud, too. Anyway, I’m headed sans laptop to:

1. Our annual Sales Kickoff in Orlando (with a side-trip to see Dad) to see peers, learn stuff, and get pumped and jacked for our new fiscal year!
2. TSW 2012 Service Transformations in Vegas to learn more about the cloud and how to be more effective at whatever it is I do.
3. The Big Lebowski – KronosWorks right back in Sin City to meet customers, hear Billy Beane talk “Moneyball,” and rent a giant, dirigible cloud not filled with hydrogen. That’s just not a good idea.

I know “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” but I’ll be reporting live from both Vegas events and hopefully they’ll include trips to Sushi Samba in the Pallazzo, and the Carnival Bar… somewhere. You never know. I might bump into “Mike” while there.

Oh, and I have no idea why he writes on his head.

Interestingly enough the photo was taken directly after cutting the line at the Starbucks at the San Diego Airport…. That’s kinda a tight terminal and you know how coffee drinkers get near dawn.
